Jill St James, Registered Nurse

Jill has been working in the cosmetic medical and surgical field for over 25 years, a long side leading plastic and cosmetic surgeons both in Australia and the UK. Her intense passion for anti-aging and facial rejuvenation has led her to become a highly Specialized Cosmetic Injector.

Jill attends many conferences and workshops both in Australia and overseas to keep up to date on all the latest techniques. With a large base of satisfied patients, Jill prides herself on her technique and her utmost care and understanding when dealing with her patients. She has depth of knowledge on all aspects of cosmetic procedures. Jill is very approachable and friendly and always willing to answer any questions you may have.

She also has expertise and knowledge in the latest skin treatments including ProFractional Laser and facial rejuvenation. Veins

Dr. Owen Roberts, MBBS (Hons)

Dr. Roberts is one of Australasia’s most experienced vein doctors (phlebologists). He has completed thousands of procedures using ultrasound guided sclerotherapy and microsclerotherapy. Owen was the first doctor in Sydney to treat veins using the Cool Touch Endo Venous Laser (ELT), in 2004. Dr. Roberts has now performed over 2000 of these procedures.

Dr. Roberts is a member of the Australasian College of Phlebology and is a certified sclerotherapist. He was placed first in Australia and New Zealand for clinical and theory exams and won the Australasian College of Phlebology President’s Gold Medal in 2007.

Dr. Roberts trained with Dr. John Barrett at the Palm Clinic in New Zealand ( the southern hemisphere’s busiest phlebology practice and now leads the Crows Nest Cosmetic and Vein Clinic’s Phlebology unit. Dr. Roberts has trained numerous doctors including vascular surgeons and international doctors in laser and UGS treatments. He is currently involved in training future doctors for the college of Phlebology.

Janet Roberts

Janet is Head Sonographer at Crows Nest Cosmetic and Vein Clinic and orchestrates the Clinic’s varicose vein treatments. Janet is an extremely experienced radiographer and has a diploma in ultrasonography. Prior to joining the Clinic, Janet was extensively involved in all aspects of ultrasound including obstetrics and musculo-skeletal ultrasound.

Janet performs the ultrasound mapping for varicose vein treatments at the Clinic and assists Dr. Roberts with ultrasound guided sclerotherapy during treatments and assessing the success of treatments. Janet is invaluable during endovenous laser treatment to ensure the laser is introduced effectively and placed accurately.

Cosmetic Surgery

Dr. Meaghan Heckenberg, Liposculpture Surgeon

MBBS, FFMACCS, FRACGP, DRANZCOG

Dr Meaghan Heckenberg has been performing liposuction procedures for The Alia Clinic Sydney since 2007. Her specialty is tumescent liposculpture performed under local anaesthetic and has performed hundreds of procedures.

Meaghan has a fellowship from The Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and is a full member of The Cosmetic Physician’s Society of Australasia. She particularly enjoys sculpting the body to improve one’s shape and size and has made liposculpture her primary procedure in cosmetic surgery. She believes that the highest level of surgical skill is achieved by performing the same procedure often. Meaghan understands the desire to improve one’s shape and has had liposculpture procedures herself with most satisfying results.

Liposculpture can essentially be performed on most areas of the body, including female breasts as an less invasive alternative to the more conventional breast reduction surgery, plus male breasts / chest for gynaecomastia. Other areas are neck, face, chin, arms, waist, abdomen (“tummy”), hips (“muffin top” or “love handles”), upper back (“bra area” or “back fat”), lower back, pubic area, buttocks, outer thighs, inner thighs, anterior thighs, back of thighs, knees, calves and ankles.

All liposculpture procedures are performed at our surgicentre at Crows Nest and are day-only procedures. Dr. Heckenberg has a fellowship from the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and is a full member of The Cosmetic Physician’s Society of Australasia.
