Ultrasound Mapping

$280 you will get about $100 back from medicare. There are no more ultrasound costs throughout the treatment

Compression stocking

Cost $110 per pair and your leg is measured to ensure you have the right size to fit your leg. These stockings are fitted after your treatment. They are a stay-up stocking with your toes free (not enclosed) These are an excellent quality stocking and will last a long time.

Varicose veins are a medical problem and so Sclerotherapy treatment is partially covered by Medicare.

Spider Veins

$410 per treatment. Severely affected legs usually require two treatments per leg. The cost is $410 per treatment, with a Medicare rebate of $90 to $230 per treatment depending on your safety net status. So for two treatments the cost is $820 with a rebate of $180 (more if the safety net is exceeded).

Varicose Veins – Treatment by Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy

Costs $900 per treatment, on average most people need 2 treatments per leg. So for treating a moderately affected leg the cost for two treatments would be $1800 with a rebate of about $330. For two moderately affected legs, four treatments would be required costing $3600 with a rebate of about $850.

Varicose Veins -Treatment by Endovenous Laser and Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy

Always performed as a combined treatment, for one leg only (two visits on consecutive days), cost is $3600 with a rebate of approximately $900. For treatment of two legs by Laser and Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy (usually 3-4 visits over consecutive days if you wish), the cost for all treatment is approx $5400 for 3 visits with a rebate of approximately $1300.

At the time of your consultation (covered by Medicare), you will be given a much better idea of the total cost of your treatments. Keep in mind that you will most likely need to undergo ultrasound mapping so the extent of your vein problem can be established before a realistic cost is outlined. The mapping also determines if you are suitable for Laser or Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy which impacts on the costing quote.
